Members: Manage Validating Members

You can choose to require all members to validate after registering before their account is active, until a member has validated their account they will be considered "Validating" and be part of the validating user group.
Members may also be in the validating group for other reasons such as when changing their Email address, if flagged by the spam monitoring service, or if you are using IP.Subscriptions and have forced all members to require a subscription.

Validation Types

There are two types of new user validation: User Validation and Admin Validation. You can configure which type to use by going to Admin CP --> System --> System Settings --> System --> Security and Privacy and configuring the "New registration email validation?" setting.

User Validation means that after registering the user will be sent an Email asking them to click a link to verify that the EMail address they provided is valid.
Admin Validation means that the administrator will manually have to approve an account before they are validated.

You can choose to use either, or both methods of validation.

Managing Validating Members

You can see a list of all members currently awaiting validation under Admin CP --> Members --> Manage Validating Members.
From here you can approve an account, ban it, delete it, mark it as a spammer or resend the validation Email.

Beside each entry you will see an icon indicating whether the user has completed user verification:

This will show both for new registrations, and times when the user has to revalidate, such as when they change their Email.
