Applications & Modules: Manage Hooks

This page allows you to manage the hooks that you have installed and install additional hooks.

What is a hook?
A hook is something which extends or modifies a feature in your community, or adds blocks to the sidebar on your board index.
IP.Board ships with several hooks which display information in the sidebar. Add on applications may add hooks to integrate themselves with IP.Board (for example, IP.Subscriptions comes with hooks which modify the registration page) and you can also obtain standalone hooks to modify IP.Board's functionality.

At the top of the Manage Hooks page, you will notice two buttons: "Reimport Application Hooks" and "Create New Hook" - most users can ignore these buttons as they are for advanced users. If you are looking to install a hook, see the "Install a New Hook" section below.

Installed Hooks

This table lists all the hooks you have installed and have enabled. You can view more details about the hook, or disable it, by selecting the relevant options from the dropdown menu.

Disabled Hooks

This table lists all hooks you have installed but have disabled. To enable a hook, choose the appropriate option from its dropdown menu.

Install a New Hook

This section allows you to add a new hook.
When you download a hook (we have a collection of hooks available on our resource site) you will have a file ending in ".xml" (usually called "hook.xml").
You should select this file from your computer, and then press the "Install" button.
The hook will then be installed and enabled.
