As mentioned in our release announcement, IP.Nexus files are encoded with Zend Guard. We feel this decision is important in our efforts to ensure the security of your community and business.
This article is aimed to those people that have no idea of what "encoded files" or "ZendGuard" actually means.
From Zend Guard FAQ:
How do I check if my server supports zend guard encoded files?
To check if your server supports zend guard encoded files you can either ask your host directly, or use our check requirements script available for download on our site: http://www.invisionp...equirements.php
If you are hosted on our servers with a community hosted package there is no need to check, as we already support such encoding.
What if my server doesn't support zend guard encoded files?
If your server doesn't support zend guard encoded files you'll have to contact your hosting and ask them to install Zend Optimizer on the server. The download links are available in the quoted part of the FAQ above.

From Zend Guard FAQ:
Q: What is Zend Guard?
Zend Guard enables the protection and mass distribution of commercial PHP applications. Ensuring extra protection against reverse engineering and providing robust licensing technology, Zend Guard provides software vendors the ability to safely distribute and manage the use of their PHP applications.
Q: What do my customers need to run Zend encoded-applications?
They need to use Zend Optimizer, which can be freely downloaded. They also need PHP version 4.0.5 and above before they can run the encoded files.
NOTE: The official loaders support only until PHP 5.2.x while the PHP 5.3 loaders are still in beta testing and can be downloaded from the zend forum instead: http://forums.zend.c...php?f=57&t=6595
