IP.Content articles load slowly

Some users have reported that upon upgrading to IP.Content 2.0 (or installing it anew) that the default page in IP.Content loading the articles database loads slowly.
In every case so far this has been tracked down to very slow loading times for getimagesize() PHP function calls. This is a default PHP function and is used to determine image dimensions so that article screenshots can be proportionately downsized. This is not an IPB issue.
Some common causes for this problem
In any event, this is an issue with the hosting provider and not with the software. You will need to contact your host for assistance.
