Preventing IP.Blog Spam

Just like your main forums, the blog aspect of your community is also subject to relentless spammers. However, IP.Blog includes some unique features to combat spam.
Preventing Trackback Spam
The IP.Blog settings page contains a setting called "Enable trackback spam prevention". When this feature is enabled, the board will automatically detect and block trackbacks from detected bots and spam posts.
Akismet
Akismet is a great anti-spam solutions for blogs. If you already have an Akismet key, you can enter your key into your blog settings and IP.Blog will automatically run all comments, trackbacks, and entries through their spam filters. If you don't have a key, you can signup for a key here. Most smaller sites will be fine on a personal plan, however for larger communities, you may need a Pro account.
You can, additionally, configure the action that your board should take when a comment is flagged as likely spam. You can choose to either delete the comment, or to put the comment on hold, pending moderator approval.
