I haven't had to install anything new in awhile with IPB but I am having
a problem with the Gallery. Based on the install instructions it says to

"The first thing you need to do is upload all the files from the "Upload" Directory of the zip file you downloaded."

It does not say where to put the files on your forum. Is it in the Forum folder. If so there
are duplicate folders.  I  just need a little nudge on this one to get going.

Thanks,

Boo

Upload all the files to your forums directory and then run the setup script.

Thanks Josh for the input. Forgive my ingnorance on this but if
you upload the folder for the Gallery 1.20RC5 directly into the
Forums folder you will have conflicting folders. As in the Gallery contains
a folder called source, directly under Forums is already a folder called source.
Uploading the Gallery would overwrite the forums folders.

Are you supposed to pull out the individual files from the gallery and place
them in the respective Forums folder. I know I'm missing something here!

You don't overwrite any files. It simply adds new files to those folders.
So files in the the sources folder of the Gallery zip file, should be placed in the sources folder of IPB, etc. :)

O.K. I see where some of my confusion is coming from. I don't use FTP to upload since the server is running at my house. I use extract or copy as I am working directly on the server. I went ahead and copied each file from the Gallery Folder to it's sister folder in the Forum folder. Setup when well but when I click on the gallery link I receive this

IPB TEMPLATE ERROR: Could not load the required template.

First, try and remove any custom skin settings by clicking here

Then, please visit your Admin Control Panel to repair this template.

Error: load_template(./skin_cache/cacheid_2/skin_gallery_cats.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

I did a search but there was only one other instance of this problem but with a different file.

Thanks again for everyones help on this.!

You have to rebuild your templates from the AdminCP.

I guess that was too obvious! Rebuilt and looks good now.

Thanks again,

Na, it's a issue that Josh posted a reposnse to here on the board.  The install doc should reflect this requirement and I'm sure Josh will update it for final.  :)
