Hey,

I am wondering weather to ask for a PDA for Xmas. Which ones do you reccommend? UK links are appreciated and eBay is fine.

Does anyone have a PDA? :) What do you think of them, i just love gadgets and think one could be the next step.

Appreciated

Chris.

I have a Dell Axim5 and I like it, Starts nice and fast... well its always on really. Got a fold up keyboard for it so I do all my school work on there. Mobile Word is very limited though. You will need an SD or CF Card as there isn't much space on the built in. I can use it as an MP3 player and most games for it are paid for. You could get a pda/mobile phone combo, they are quite cool.

If you are student, a PDA would be an excellent purchase. Back in the day I had a fold up keyboard and an application called PrintBoy, which allowed me to wirelessly print any document I had stored in my PDA on any printer that had an IR port. If you go for a PDA as apposed to a pocket PC, I would go with a Palm. :D

I have a Palm V and I use it a lot with my travels and keep my appointments and contact info.

It all depends if you "REALLY" need one or just want one. If you have a really buisy scheadule or like to keep things organized like me. And have a lot of names and phone numbers that you need to remember and have used an organizer before then a PDA is a good thing to have.

Palm is sort of... limited.
PocketPC is much more open, and can run anything Windows can is most circumstances.
Though I had a Palm, I want a Pocket PC!

True...I have had mine for 3 years now before Pocket PC came out. There are a lot of new PDAs out there that are good. Just need to do some reasearch before you buy and make sure your really need it otherwise it will just be a waste of money for you and you will just be upset.

I use a Palm Tungsten C.

Sometimes I'd rather have a pocketPC, but palms have their advantages too.

The biggest advantage here being that it was free.

I have a Toshiba e400 running Windows Mobile 2003 SE, its very nice a very nice low budget Pocket PC, only thing is I wouldn't recommend it if you want a foldable keyboard, haven't been able to find one yet :'(

I have a rather old iPAQ. Very good, have had no troubles (except for a dying battery - I got it off eBay). Make sure you have a use for it, mine is starting to collect dust.

For me the palmOne Tungsten|T3 is the best PDA I've ever owned.

It all depends on what you want it for. If you want to be organized, palmOne definitely. If you want something that will try to be a mini-laptop, get a pocket pc.

Dell PDA's are really nice. If whoevers getting it for you can spend around $500, get the Axim X50V, if not, ask for the X30 or the older X3/X3i series. X5's are alright but they are getting really old and I personally don't like the design.

Anyway, when it comes to PDA's you can't go wrong with Dell.
