Nope, being a car driver I find motercyclists v. annoying. Most of them are 14 yr old twats who don't know anything about the rules of the road.

I have a Honda Deaville - 650

It's nice to know that I'm not the only 'oldie' with a bike.........

Being a car driver AND motorcycle rider for over 33 years I find the biggest problem group on the road are those people who have been taught how to pass the test and NOT how to drive and/or ride!!! I really don't understand how some people are actually allowed to even take their test let alone be on the road.

This group probably accounts for over 60% of drivers and 80% of riders.

I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago, opposite a young lad who was involved in a car accident and who ended up with two broken legs - he was actually quite lucky! He insisted that it was not his fault but from how he described the accident and the fact that it happened only two days after passing his test........ Need I say any more!

Hello Ian....same for me too...33 years on bikes and cars.
And we've got the same motor too....though I think my bike's about 150lbs lighter.
And that's the problem today...everything in life is somebody elses fault.
Things have changed haven't they? And not for the better. :(

Wound up selling my bike a few years ago. Got married, had kids and money was tighter, just couldn't afford to keep it. Had a Custom Softail (FXSTC) 1988, in red. I miss it...

Yep, bought myself a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 when I got back from Iraq. It was a "welcome home" gift from me to me. :D

I had a 69 Triumph bonnie that I partially rebuild with my brother (he did all the hard work), and later a Kawasaki Kz-1000 police special with a custom paint job from a friend who works at a motorcycle paint shop in east LA. I loved them both.

Problem is, people just don't look out for motorcycle drivers, and I know way, WAY to many people who've been hurt just in the last few years. My dad can hardly walk (he's 57) because someone once didn't see him and switched lanes right into him.

I got rid of them both. I miss it sometimes, but I value my legs.

Doesn't have to be that way though mate.
I've been riding for 33 years, never broken a bone, never totalled a bike, and never made an insurance claim.

I know, I know...and its not myself I doubt...it's all those other people who don't look out for us!

It's the mindset that determines your fate TBH.
Most people bring it on themselves, and even when they screw up they blame somebody else.
Just believe that everybody around you (including other bikers) is out to get you and you'll never be surprised at what they do.

Hello,

I have a 2002 Yamaha YZ125 motorcross bike, setup for Freestyle Motorcross.

That photo was before I cut grab handles under the seat, and cut the back guard short.

Where to start? Look at My Motorcycle timeline and reviews for a few of my bikes past and present... and I have a motorcycle forum powered by IPB 1.1.1 as well.
