My girlfriend didn't even know there was a Wizard of Oz sequel, Return to Oz... but I'm pretty sure there was a third one as well, but IMDb isn't being much of a help. It may not have been called "Wizard of Oz 3" or something so simple. Here's what I remember... maybe I'm thinking of another movie, but I'm pretty sure there's a third Wizard of Oz movie...

* Starts out in Emerald City, and it's a waterfront city
* Earthquakes/other disasters threaten the city
* Someone brings the Ruby Slippers to Dorothy
* Dorothy stands in front of a mirror and uses them (clicks the heels three times) to go somewhere, in order to save Emerald City

And that's ALL I remember about it. Presumably it would have to come out after 1985, when Return to Oz came out. But I suppose it's possible it came out before, making it the second one and Return to Oz the third one, but I don't think so.

Found this on Wikipedia :)

Quote

The Wizard of Oz has an official sequel, the animated production Journey Back To Oz (made by Filmation Studios in 1964 but not released until eight years later), featuring the voice of Liza Minnelli, Garland's daughter, as Dorothy.
The 1974 musical and 1978 film The Wiz were adapted from the same story.
The considerably darker Return to Oz, was made by Walt Disney Studios in 1985 starring Fairuza Balk as Dorothy.
