Why is it that some of the emoticons on the company forums are different to the ones that come by default with IPB?

For example: Posted Image vs :D, Posted Image vs :)

The non standard ones look better IMO. So what's with the difference? Why don't IPS use their own emoticons on here? I've noticed it's always been like this since I started coming here this time last year.
I am entirely superfluous.

But that's just it, IPS uses their own emoticons on their forums, available for download here.

If anything your response confused me more :P

I downloaded the pack you linked to and while it looks very nice, it seems you were the uploader. So all you basically did was save the emoticons from the IPS company forums and release them as an importable xml. The mystery of why the enhanced non-standard emoticons that don't come with IPB as standard are on here in the first place remains...unless IPS just wanted to have some fun on their company forums. :)

I think that's just it: IPS wanted to have some created for their Company Forums and in turn, someone released the same package I did some time ago, but since people are requesting the package and can no longer find it, I have distributed it to IPS Beyond for download.

I always thought it was because later versions of IPB have included enhanced emoticons, but I could be wrong.

Nope, in fact 2.1.6 ships with the exact same non-standard emoticons as 2.1.5, 2.1.4, 2.1.3 etc did.

Personally I can't see why the least good looking ones are shipped by default/.

The emoticons were updated on our company forums a long time ago but have never made it into the default download package, as far as I know...
