I've heard about this, but haven't seen anything on it (other than it's at IPS Beyond), anyway I've tried a free download manager, but it required skin edits (why I got away from PHPBB, I hate skin edits now, they take so much time to do/redo during upgrades and keep track of)

So I heard it's Invisions, so how much? Any details or demos?

You can post a ticket from your client center to get it, I believe.

To order it (at this time) you would need to email sales[@]invisionpower.com and request it.  It is $50 for initial purchase with one year support/updates.  Afterwards it is $20 annually if you choose to renew it.

I do not know at this time if it's pricing is going to change any with the new pricing structures being implemented, however as the base Blog and Gallery package pricing is not, I would assume no.

The best demo is IPS Beyond.  There isn't currently a live demo where you can see the ACP side however.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

Why would I have to send an email to sales, why not just put it in the client center? Is it still in dev or somethin?

A page for the download manager is being developed, it just hasn't been put up live yet. original.gif  It will be in due time, and at that time it will be placed on the main site just like Gallery/Blog is now.

IDM sounds very interesting... how does it stand against the competition?
I'm currently using ntd1712's Download Script... could anyone comment about the differences? Pros & cons?
IPSBeyond is mentioned as demo, seems to be working to me... although though to see the admin part  blink.gif

I can't help to wonder about the integration with IPB 2.2...

Just purchased IDM 1.0.1... guess this only works with IPB 2.1.x?
How does the release schedule looks for IDM when you consider the pending 2.2 release?

I have a 2.2 compatible version I'm working on locally.

I've added basic versioning control, and support for remote file linking (which has been a much needed, even if I dislike it, feature in IDM) and support for importing files locally from a server (i.e. you FTP a file to the server, then 'import' it during the file submission routine).

I'm working on a few other tweaks and additions, though admittedly, my time is more dedicated to IPB and Gallery right at this moment.  Any way it goes, there will be an IDM version that will be available as soon as 2.2 is final (and I do hope to get a beta out available to users on IPS Beyond before then for testing). original.gif

I haven't really used ntd1712's script, so I can't comment on it.

I can tell you I've written a converter for it, however, if you do decide to purchase IDM.  That way you won't lose all of your data. original.gif
