I consider "rolleyes" to be a "sarcastic" smile myself.

For a sarcastic smile, I'd use

For the smiley face, it's just a smiley face. I generally interpret it as making a sentance 'soft'. Like...
"That's enough :) " is just a gental reminder to go back on topic, wheras:
"That's enough." is more what you put when you're closing a topic

I think its ok , its not sarcastic at all :)

I do tend to over-use smilies myself though (both on boards and on msn / aim etc) , most lines have one or more

Compare the current smiley (v2): Posted Image with v1.3's: Posted Image

Any of them look sarcastic? I find the current smiley a bit 'odd', but maybe I'm not used to looking at it, yet.

Since I've been beat on for being blunt in my replies, I tried to use the :) smiley to lighten things up. I've been told that my usage of it seems sarcasmic though :P So it seems that people see it differently everywhere. I'd like a "you're number 1" smiley for some uses though :-"

To me, :) is more or less a generic greeting type smiley.

Of course, I'm spoiled by having so many terrific emoticons to choose from. Posted Image
