I'm considering starting an online service... but I want to test the waters (as it were) before jumping in feet first.

For now, I have to limit this to the first 2 people that want to participate, just so I can see how it goes...

If you have designed a site layout in Photoshop and find it a nightmare to slice/dice/cut/code/etc that PSD layout, put it on a server somewhere where I can download it, and I'll do it for you - free of charge. Once I get the PSD file and start work on it, it should only take me about an hour (best guestimate) to get it all done for you (will include all html files, css file(s), image files, etc).

Note*** - your PSD file should be LAYERED (not one flat image/etc)...

Again, for now, I have to limit this to the first 2 people who send me a PM with their download link. If/when I reply to your PM, then that means I have started the conversion process and you should hear back from me (again, via PM) within the next hour or so with your files, etc. If I have any questions regarding your layout, I'll PM you.

Don't worry, I'll respect YOUR work (meaning I won't snake any of your graphics, etc).

I also ask that the PSD design is your OWN ORIGINAL WORK. :D

Peace,
Watty

**Edit** If you've designed in an area for Google ads or any other ad(s), include your "cut/paste" HTML code in the PM and I'll throw that in as well. :)

An interesting idea, I can also agree I've been frustrated to no end by trying to slice up a photoshopped page.

However, usually work the other way now, creating the HTML blocks, then the graphics to fit in the blocks.

I've tried it the "old fashioned way" before (slice and code) - it brought me to my knees and I cried like a little girl.

I've got a much better way of doing it now and it's pretty amazing. Since I'm unemployed and provide very little financially to my family, I need to do something about it - and I thought this -might- have some merit to it. I'm fairly certain there is a market for it, and if I can average an hour or so per PSD, should be beneficial. After time, I'm sure that HOUR limit will drop to around 30-45 minutes.

Well you're going to have to account for down time, and sending PSDs back because they're improperly formatted to work with (you'll probably have to do that often...)

Yea, I've no doubt you are 100% correct. I suppose that's why I'm doing a "test run" for a few folks in the interim. I'll knock 2 out, see how that goes, then open it back up for several more just to get a feel for what's being submitted. For the most part, as long as everything is layered, it should be good to go. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Haven't had any takers yet on my free offer - but in a recent SitePoint email I received, there is a company that advertised with SitePoint that's basically doing the same thing - and they are charging $179.00 with a 24 hour "turn around". Heck, I was considering charging $39.99. :o

But - they have the advertising $$ and can get their "name" out their... the little man has a lot of mountains to conquer!
