Improve the gallery import image feature so that it capable of putting thumbnails in the blog entry and lightbox/popup window option on clicking.
Also don't know if this was fixed or not, but at this site the image in my custom page named "Contact us" is fine on my 19' & 17" monitors but on my ibook 12" the image is outside the blog entry frame(similar to bad Myspace profiles) because blog is not reducing the image enough.

User CSS
I was actually thinking about finding a way to mod this into the blog by using the profile and adding a <style>User's style</style> under the header so it would overwrite the CSS but was unsure if it would work since the CSS is cached.
Easier/more ways to integrate the user's profile into the blog
You already have Location and Personal statement and so forth in the profile why can't you may them into usable tags like {blog.owner} so the Admin can define content blocks simpler. It takes a lot of coding to add an avatar block since a member will recognize someone better off of their avatar then their personal photo.
Make blog individual stats similar to board or blog statistics
It would be very nice to have a boardstrip statistics for each individual blog at the bottom of their page. Like Most recent entry, Comment, Amount of Entries, categories, Comments and so forth along with the online users browsing the blog.
With this Make blog individual stats similar to board or blog statistics ability to add most recent or random 5 to this bar from gallery
Ability to add the random or most recent images from gallery feature to the board stats suggested above.
Blog with multiple editors has mini-avatar next to entry title
I think that's pretty self-explanatory.
Way to make Certain Group blogs
I like to make staff blogs but also have a few break downs for certain members of the staff for certain blogs but I have to use an extra (testish) member to hold the blog and add all of my staff as editors and I have to create an extra member per staff type blog I want to make. I also think that certain groups should be able to create more then one blog like administrators.
Ability to have content block above blog entries
I think that there should be a way to add content blocks above the blog entries or below them either that and/or span above all three columns.
Custom fields
Similar to the custom fields for the Gallery or profile where the admin can add special fields that can be filled out like moods and Music and so forth.
Interest or club groups
Ability to have special interest or club type groups for special things like "Army Wives" to get updates and so forth. With this there would be a set of group leaders that make the group but the blogs could be linked to this show updates from members blogs and have special updates in this blog for group members and public.
Private entries
Set for special users to be able to access or perhaps the users of the special interest groups above.
I will probably think of more but that's my list for now.

I know that sometimes I didn't think of all the categories I want so I don't have the one I need for specific entries so it would be nice to have a "New" selection so when the member submits it, it prompts them to enter the new category and creates and adds the entry to the new category.
Also it would be nice to perhaps be able to submit an entry to multiple categories?
Like in one entry I could be talking about my kids, my husband and myself but I can only choose one category for all three. I know that would require some changing of category count to make sure it doesn't double count a single entry because it's in two categories but I think it could be done.

We had thought about including both of those features in 1.4 actually, but we didn't have the time to implement them. So it's very likely they will show up in 2.0

Maybe in the after life.
Anyway I agree with both of themorrigan's ideas. For one thing it is a tad too complicated as it is if someone wants to do certain things. They can't quickly figure out where to go or they overlook things. Would be nice to have more options in thos emenus. I also agree that multiple categories would be good.

You love throwing out comments like this, don't you? You ever stopped to think that maybe you'd be taken a little more seriously if you showed a little more respect in return?

Also, I'd like to see error messages (customizable?) for users who try to browse to a restricted category. In the current version, all you get is a blank page.
Apart from that, my suggestions are somewhat selfish...as someone who wants to use the Blogs as a collaborative environment for students (without spending time I don't have learning a CMS)...I'd like to see something allowing people in the Editor's list to add colour-coded notes to blog entries...but maybe this is getting a bit too close to CMS-land.
Just my two cents.

I'm not completely clear on what you're trying todo with the notes, but it sounds like you could probably use custom bbcode. You could setup something like [note=color]Text of note[/note], which would then format the note using your custom bb style.

But you'd better keep breathing for ever, otherwise IPS has to prepare a Hell Edition especially for you.

Yeah, sorry about that lol...I had in mind something like a footnote system, except something where you could put your mouse pointer over the note and have a callout window pop up with the note in corresponding colour with author, date, etc. (and a list of notes where there are more than one in a given place). Ideally, the note could contain links to other pages, to a user profile, etc.
Hope that makes more sense!

I seriously feel that way. I seriously will be shocked when 3.0 does come out. I'm not saying it to make anyone mad. That's just true that I will be shocked. And really it probably will cost IPS vs. other forum companies if it's not done sooner rather than later. I probably am sticking with IPB regardless, but I do see others leaving it and it needs the hook system and some other things. I am pretty happy with the current product myself.
