WIll IPB 3 gallery have a bulk upload option for the user group?

Benefits:

1. Reduce effort on the admins.
2. Better user experience.
3. Much more useable gallery option.

thanks

It should already have this, as per the older Gallery versions already do. :)

Latest Dev version for IPB3 does have those function. The site admin has to set it for it to work.

Gallery already has the option to add multiple file upload fields for a user to bulk upload, or allow a user to upload zips which are auto extracted and added to the gallery.

On the upload page you can have a couple of buttons + the Image Title, then the user can add anything else to the images' page they want once it's uploadedg. Mabe a button to add another image that adds a new upload button w/ title tag(s).

hello

i would add a vote on bulk uploads but i think we people talk about different things here.

most gallery tools today use a java applet (or maybe flash would work too) to upload multiple files at once or via drag'n'drop. if i want to upload 80 files with single fileupload fields i would get crazy. if i zip the pictures the zip may turn into something like 160mb size so i often run against the post size limits. so both mutliple-upload-fields and zip upload are some work around for "real" bulk upload.

some upload applet (dragndrop of multiple files) or a webdav interface ('open as network folder in windows') would improve this situation a lot.

i havent evaluated ip.gallery for a while but the support for bulk-upload (only multiple form fields) was my show-stopper.

I must be missing something because I don't see any way to upload multiple images. Can you elaborate?

You have to allow the group in the ACP to upload multiple files, but then on the front end if the user has permission there will be a button near "New Image" that says "Bulk Upload". Depending on the permissions you set in the ACP, the user will either see multiple input fields, a single input field allowing them to upload a zip file, or both of these capabilities.
