Pretty much IPB 3 has friendly url's that you can edit the format. There are add-ons for SEO such as CommunitySeo that isn't made by Invision Power but it isn't free.

Depend for what you mean seo optimization
IPB 3.0 has a modrewrite included and this is quite good because is less resource hungry of the add on mod used in others board
Unfortunately IPB 3.0 has not a sitemap generator. Minervaseo has just release a beta googlesitemap generator as shareware. Micheal from codersrefuge.com probably will release a mod to choice the keywords per forum/subforum basis. This two mod are quite useful for a seo point of view.
Usefully could also be a tagscloud mod but to day date none has release such mod as single mod. In any case is not sure that a tagclouds mod could be so useful for a seo forum.

Go to: \admin\sources\classes\bbcode\custom\defaults.php and find...
if( count($rels) )
{
$rel = " rel='" . implode( ' ', $rels ) . "'";
}
Directly above it, add:
if ( in_array( "nofollow", $rels ) && strpos( $option, 'example.com' ) !== false )
{
unset( $rels[0] );
}
... obviously substituting 'example.com' for your own domain. NOTE: This might not work if your forum is on a subdomain, I can't remember the fix for that, sorry.

should work, no?

I know that some modifications are available for this kind of improvements but I haven't tried them as I really don't know how they work, thinking maybe they have too many features and perhaps taking too much control with some repercussions along the way if one is not careful enough, I really don't know.
Invision has done great seo related improvements with IPB3 but I would like to see much further improvements as long as Invision has the time and resources for the continuing seo optimization work.
One other thing I really liked this summer was the robots file included in the new release as I think it is important to give some directions to the friendly robots, telling them that some pages are of no importance. This makes the indexing much cleaner, decreasing "useless" indexed pages and "duplicate" entries and perhaps taking some load off the server in some cases.
But the included robots file is just basic and much more could be added to it, but some of it is perhaps just a personal choice.
