http://www.invisionpower.com/ is a nice example of a CCS-powered site. ;-)

Theoretically, you can make anything with it. I haven't had much time to play with it so I don't have much to show, but it's pretty much a really simple and easy page manager that integrates into IPB and has access to all of its templates and APIs. You can also use the IPB wrapper, which makes your site integrate extremely well into your forums. It's also a good idea to try a demo of CCS and check it out yourself.

The confusion is probably from the fact that most customers don't know what exactly CCS does, at least, what it is capable of.

Ive tried the demo but it doesn't help me out much unless I see other examples of how others have used it and how it works

Let's start creating a list of pages from users who has published their site here in the forum... if you don't want it to appear here, tell me and I will delete as quick as possible...

First there is a link to the Profile's author, second the link to the site and third a short comment of what I've seen...

http://invisionpower.com
Obviously the first one... made only in one day, replacing the old one

Lee
http://www.helpmindsheal.com/
This a very beautiful page done using CCS

Dan Whitehouse
http://darkresistance.net/index.php
A Clan site --> well done!

If you have any site you want I add to the list, please answer this message and I'll add the link to the CCS pages of your site... :)

I think this is misleading. Remember that you have to create the html or php or css code and have the template images in order to have a site like that. You're basically creating your own template to work with CCS. It seems nice but I think some are going to be confused and think that CCS comes with its own templates and skins.

All templates and design CAN NOT be made using CCS... that's an obvious thing... they can be made IN CCS using the editor... but CCS DON'T generate the code for templates and design as it DOES with BLOCKS...

One of main points of CCS is the CODE generation for BLOCKS...

My intention with the site list is show the kind of blocks that can be make using CCS...

Actually, I think Charles did convert the site to CCS in one day. It took more than one day to create the site itself before it was converted, though.

The easiest way to explain what it does... it lets you create a body page in HTML, php or BBCode. It will then place the header/footer for IP.Board around that, creating what is an integrated page. You can set permissions based on IP.Board permissions who can view what, etc. You also aren't bound by IP.Boards structure, you can put something outside of it.

I do not have anything on a production site that I can show here. However you can see on the test forum an idea of how it works.

IP.Board Base URL: http://www.pcxdesigns.com/dev/ipb3/
Example of CCS with IP.Board Wrapper: http://www.pcxdesigns.com/dev/ipb3/index.php/page/test/page00

Same example but through different URL: http://www.pcxdesigns.com/dev/index.php/test/page00

If you notice the URL it is missing the forum directory which was ipb3. With this you can place these pages technically anywhere within your server. You just need to provide the path to the IP.Board Forum directory. So if you had a forum directory for the forum, but lets say you wanted to build a static page called "art" or even "reviews" but have it be somewhere else you could do that fairly easily.

It can be as simple or complex as you want. I am showing simple examples, done through the BBCode editor. You can also build it from base HTML or even php.

You can build blocks that IP.Board uses and use them on your page. You don't have to use the IP.Board Wrapper, but could develop something with just the header. Something like:
http://www.pcxdesigns.com/dev/ipb3/index.php/page/Test-Filename.html

work in progress, but coming along very nicely. The power of CCS allows me to setup variuos sections to be themed in different designs and our members just love that whole idea.
