Hi Gang,

You guessed it...

Another unhappy vBulletin customer here, also thinking of making a switch to Invision.

I actually have a few questions about the Invision photo gallery. I currently use PhotoPost as an add on to my vBulletin forum and was wondering about the different ways that the Invision gallery can be configured.

For example, can it be configured to show the various categories listing them from top to bottom?

I'd also be interested if some members could link me to some active photo galleries, so I could have a peek at some of the busy galleries in action.

Thanks in advance - I'll hopefully be joining the paying ranks soon. :)

-Chris

You can configure Gallery to display the categories in what we call "legacy" mode, which lists them similar to forums on the board index, yes. Same goes for albums.

Hi Brandon,

Any examples of the legacy set up in action?

Basically, I'd like to see if I could configure the integrated gallery to look similar to my current PhotoPost one.

Thanks,

-Chris

Thanks for your response. :)

Do you have any links to examples of the integrated gallery being run in the legacy set up that Brandon mentioned?

Thanks for your help. :)

I like the photopost gallery and would prefer it set up that way. Categories, easy to find what you want, drill down.

I really like invision but I think this is also missing in the blogs and makes them not useful at all. There should be cateogries for everything like sports, music, etc. so you can easily find content important to you and subscribe to it.

It's worth noting that I've re-added categories into the blog for the next major version. There's a blog article about this here: http://community.inv...velopment-news/

Chris,

Sorry for the delay. I have changed the MEMBERS GALLERIES section to the forum view for you, so that you can see the difference.

Wowzers - I appreciate you taking the time to do that.

Thanks for your help.

I actually decided to take the plunge and I purchased a "Suite" package.

I'm going to set up something in a test environment and then convert one of my small sites over from vB to IPB. If all goes well, I''ll probably move more over as well. :)
