Vbulletin or IPB

The first test I did today after vbulletin released 4.0.8 was their vBcms - now down to 100 queries and 10 non-cached templates, and still has over 1,200 bugs unresolved.
If you look at IP.Portal or IP.Content the query count is around 80-90% lower!
I personally used vBulletin for 5 years, but since IB took over from Jelsoft their software has just gone from bad to worse. When clients of mine started asking me which is better back in February this year, I had already started pointing them to IPB. I would not recommend anyone anymore to use vBulletin, they have had series 4 out now for nearly a year, and it is a shambles, even a lot of old series 3 code still in it, css well that is just another nightmare.
I can honestly say since I been with IPB I have only ever fixed 1 issue for a client, whereas with vB4 I have lost count - most errors that come from it are database related, crashed tables, mixed collations, the list is endless.
I did initially start to code some mods for vbulletin 4, but after every new release they had updated the css again and broke the mods - perhaps one day it will be a solid product, but no one knows the answer to that! They keep adding new features and breaking others, the bug count went down by 500+ between 4.0.7 and 4.0.8 - yet you only have to look at their forums to see the amount of issues their latest release is causing.
IPB - a definate yes!
vB - a definate NO!

Thats pretty much what he just posted.
We can't really tell you what to use, you need to check both sites and make a comparison of your own.
