I've read a lot about the paypal subscriptions not being able to be separated from the paypal one-time button, so my question relates to when making a one-time purchase.
How do you have paypal subscriptions enabled (since it is global), and offer a one-time purchase? Do they see both buttons, even if this is a one-time purchase, meaning they could subscribe by mistake? Or is there some setting to make it a one-time product?
Thanks

There are two buttons in Nexus if the person click the wrong button that is their problem (the person that purchases the package) not your problem.

I'm testing this with the demo.
The subscription button is triggered by the entry of a renewal date, so it is possible to sell one-time items, and it does not show.
Unfortunately the opposite is not possible, and you can't show just the subscription button for recurring billing items. Also you cannot define subscription billing length, it is treated as forever.
I've already suggested those two, so I won't again, but I am glad at least the subscription button does not show until you enter a renewal date.

That's a good point.
As you mentioned, indeed any renewal appears to be an infinite renewal, so you can't just set 1 year terms. You can set it to renew every 1 year but it will renew regardless of them wanting to renew.
Secondly to add to your comment, even though Nexus offers the single "Buy" option, it does have in place quite a nice API that can inform you when their package expires so they don't gain access to your products for longer than they should.

How do you come to that conclusion?
1) Their membership will not autorenew causing a problem for your cashflow
2) It is the admins responsibility to display buttons that give the best options for earning from their site.
Inviting a user to only purchase a one term subscription of a rolling contract is financial suicide.
Sure for some products like support where the amounts are higher it is just fine, and maybe this was the reasoning behind the decision to show both. However currently most sites are charging nominal amounts per term and so showing both is not viable.
Personally I would prefer to see an option per product.
EDIT: Apologies, just realised this is the pre-sales forum.
