Had several people in tickets mention this..

Anyone can create an album in root now.. What if someone wanted all personal albums to go into a "Members Albums" album?

Then have a "Screenshots" album that everyone could post in, and a "Fluffernutter" album the same..

Seems we need a way to say "Don't allow new albums in root" and in global albums, a way to prevent creating of albums in them?

Anyways, the permission should be changed, do member can't make a album in ROOT!
They should have permission to make 1 album, and sub-albums, and to a global album!!

I would agree people making albums in other roots folders should have been a major fix. True G4 is new there are many features that should have been look at and not just taken out, as some of them were worth keeping.

Hoping this gets changed. I haven't upgraded gallery yet. Would really dislike having to move our gallery back to vb or photopost to have better control over permissions of images. I already have different logins for different scripts since we need features offered in other scripts.

I agree.... I wish I could go back to the old gallery... this new one has been nothing but a headache for me and the members.

New galleries in root all over the place... new albums not showing up after they are created... it's just been a mess overall.


I'm so disappointed in the recent events of IPB... after years of a stable and good product, why are we now having all of these issues?

I have made a big investment in IPB and I'm second guessing that now... and I don't want to be.

+1 for this, its a pain to keep having to move the albums from the root all the time when they should be in the member albums section as per the old version or at least give us that option.
