Hi,

Now I'm looking into Nexus SEO and I'm not satisfied at all.

#1 The so-called homepage "/index.php?app=nexus&module=payments&section=store" has no meta description or meta keywords whatsoever and the TITLE tag is simply says the "Featured products". Now what kind of SEO is that? I want to set a relevant TITLE and description tag for my eshop, not just some random and useless title - "featured products"

#2 the same goes for categories (only the category name is displayed in title (I'd like to set a different title to categories instead of having the exact same name). For example I create a category "XBOX 360" but I want the title to say "Cheap XBOX 360 consoles". Same goes for meta description - there's no desc. at all.

#3 when viewing a product the word "STORE - product title" appears in front of the product title. now how's that relevant or helping seo? Also no meta description and no meta keywords. Why?? Was it so hard to code in a couple settings in "Add Package" where we could enter our meta description and title??

Please, do not wait why wait for Nexus 1.3.0 which is far away. Release 1.2.3

I like IPS, I love this system to death but when it comes to nexus you really deserve a huge wake-up slap. How can you overlook such an important part of Nexus????, one of key parts I might add. You done a fine SEO job on the forum. Why not to do the same on Nexus??? I'd be more forgiving if I had Nexus 1.0.0 or some beta right after its launch. But now I have 1.2.2, a product which had received numerous updates in the past months still missing such basic features. I'm really disappointed................

The language string for any title can be edited via the Admin CP if necessary. The page "Featured Products" has that title because that's exactly what that page is.
You can also add meta tags for pages in any page in IP.Nexus, or indeed, any of our products using IP.SEO, a free addon.

Please let me know if you have any other SEO suggestions :)

Well yes, it is featured products page but do you honestly think such title suits an eshop the best from SEO point of view?

Okay will try to achieve something with IP.Seo.

Either way, is there any chance of seeing a nexus 1.2.3 version with these issues addressed so it would be much easier to set things up?

thanks.

Well lets say IP.Seo can take care of meta desc and meta keywords. It really does. Not in the most convenient way. But it does.

But when talking about TITLE tags - not so much. Thing is that when I change a language string to fit my needs for a title tag the same translation is applied to other areas of the shop because language strings are shared throughout the application.

For example:

Attached File  nex2.png   82.85KB   20 downloads

How is that a bad thing? If you tell someone they are on one page, but the title on the tab says something different they are most likely going to be extremely confused..

I can ask you how is that a good thing from SEO point of view? Having the index page of your shop say simply "Recommended packages". I'm affraid you don't see the bigger picture here, rsyvarth.

I fear that you have your priorities mixed up if you believe SEO is more important than your customers... Search engines are made to index your content, not for you to try to manipulate your site on every concievable fashion to increase your ranking. Sure SEO is important, bit content is what drives a site. I think content should come first and SEO should be more of an extra. I know many people will disagree with me but that is the way I see things.
