Is it possible to integrate IPB and wordpress together and use the same userbase?
I need it so that users can only register using my wordpress theme. I do not want to use IPB's registration system.
I also need it so that if a user is logged into my wordpress theme, he/she is automatically logged into IPB too.
Please let me know if this is possible.
If it isn't possible, are there any plans in the future for this feature? I truly believe that forums need to be better integrated with wordpress. No body really starts a website with just a forum anymore and trying to integrate a forum into wordpress is a hassle.

What you're looking for is IP.Converge. They have a wordpress module. That's the easiest option. If you're familiar with PHP and OOP procedures then yes IPBWI has a bridge for sale that's 41,65 Eur whereas IP.Converge is free to Active Customers.

That IP.Converge module hasn't been updated or upgraded in a very long time.

IPBWI as API is licensed to GPL and for free.
IPBWI for WordPress is an out-of-the-box WordPress plugin - easiest way to sync board and wordPress, but it costs.
