Seems the pageload speed is somewhat slower than xenforo, would it be any significant once the community grows if you use ipb?

The site here is often slow, please do not use this site as a guide or comparability for Ipboard speeds.

Here is a proper test for you of IPS software on a proper setup.

Sites and other tools used for testing connectivity or content are only reliable for certain factors but not all.  When a page is being generated on IPB, nothing is displayed until the content is ready.  There are pros and cons to this sort of method.  Con being that the first response of content may take longer.  Pros to this though is that the content is all generated and sent at once instead of parts at a time, as well as being able to use a hook to examine and alter content, such as removing certain links or filtering content before it's displayed.

There are some busy sites, such as Neowin and NBC, that use IP.Board without any issues.

For me, 3.2 is a lot faster than 3.1, and we haven't changed any configuration on the main server.

On my low-end VPS with 512Mb of RAM, I've also noticed an improvement in speed. Not quite as big, but there is one.

I made a test install of IPB 3.1.4 yesterday. I had to remove it because it just feels so awkward and slow. My own 3.2 install loads in about a second on first view and half a second on a refresh. I have a pretty good host tho for shared hosting, never have any timeouts or slow page loads, it's always at a constant speed.

My opinion is that 3.2 should load quickly just as long as you have a good host.
