Hi, we're considering the IPB suite for our site, and I'm doing the demo right now to see how easy it is to use.
There's one thing I'm having trouble with. It doesn't seem right for the default page upon entertain the domain to be the forum. It seems more appropriate to us to have ti go straight to the content page, listed as 'pages' in the demo. I have found out how to re-arrange things in their own subsections, but we can't move the forums to a secondary position, they are always the first to load. Is there a way to make is to that when you go to 'www.examplesite.com' it goes straight into the pages/content module, rather than the forums module? and if so, where in the options is this achieved, it seems all organized but this in particular doesn't seem abundantly clear at the time.
If it is possible I'm sure I'll have a 'oh why didn't I think of that' moment once someone points it out.
Thanks for your time.

It is possible, yes, but it requires a small source file edit, and you don't get access to do that in the demo.

Well that's good, it's too bad it's not doable in the demo. Is that something that's possible to set during the initial installation or does it require a bit of 'editing' or reconfig to do?

You can do it before installation if you wanted, or afterwards, or change it at any time later on. Basically, there is just a single line in the forum's initdata.php file which tells the system which application to load first. It defaults to the 'forums' app, but can be changed to anything else. I default my own site to IP.Content.

Well that's a relief. It's looking really good so far but I thought it might be some strange thing that required the forum to be first at all times.
