Regret Upgrading

Maybe it's another case like IP.Content where people just didn't know how to take advantage of the product and after purchasing was pleasantly surprised. I just don't feel like that is the case from the comments I'm reading here. I'm genuinely concerned.
Does anyone have an example of a gallery that is being used that I can look to as an example of IP.Gallery's capabilities?

Sure. Check out my gallery here. What I don't like are the silly little square thumbnails and no way to remove things like the random image and recent album updates. I just want the front page to have new images and the member and global album links. We had a lot more control in the previous gallery version of what appeared on this page and you could specify the thumbnail size.
To be fair to IPS, I expected to be swamped with complaints about how the gallery now looks. I haven't and only had a couple of members commenting about it.

Do you prefer to use a zip file way of uploading or do you not have a preference or specific need? I use sites with multi-upload features often and see the change to IP Gallery as a huge step ahead. It makes uploading many or selective images faster than having to stick them into a folder. Since you haven't commented on that issue, you're better off not putting replies in this thread into consideration.I just don't feel like that is the case from the comments I'm reading here. I'm genuinely concerned.

What you should have done is requested that feature either as a hook, or added back into the gallery in a nice calm manner.

While your argument is valid and your choice is too. I don't think your threat will work that well getting the gallery changed to the way you want it quicker than it would if you didn't threaten. They have lots and lots of clients. I'm sure they wouldn't mind losing one as they gain lots each day.

Neither method works. We have been trying both for the last couple years where the gallery is concerned.

Yikes. My forum members are wanting to donate to get Gallery but after reading some of these threads I'm hesitant to take their money.

Don't fear - remember many people complained about 3.0 / 3.1 and 3.2 - yet are now happily using it.
At the end of the day we are talking about zip files - do people not sell on Ebay because they cannot upload a zip of images? Of course not.
I am sure IPS will sort something out.

just find it a piss take the way they improve something is by also removing features from it.
i wont be renewing my license anytime soon anyway
I upload loads if images (yes 100+ sometimes) and for me the old method worked fine, they could have implemented the new changes and kept the old parts easily.
also uploading images above 10mb was much more simple.
don't get me wrong i like that it supports wmv and so on.
