Just thinking about how useful the 'there have been replies' notice while you are composing a reply to a topic, I wonder if something similar could be added to the messenger.
This may be helpful where a large or busy conversation (obviously with several participants) is taking place.

Yes but its not a regular occurance which happens on many boards so that's probably why it has not been added. We still need ajax replies to messenger first
