Lifetime and perpetual licenses were discontinued in 2006. We no longer offer them.

If you buy a license, it is 'lifetime' in the respect that you don't HAVE to pay the $25 / 6 months for it to continue to work. But not paying that $25 you lose out on IPS upgrades, support and a few other useful goodies.

Once you buy a license, you are licensed to use it for a 'lifetime'.  The $25/ 6 months only gives you access to download updates, support and extras.  Even if you don't pay the $25 / 6 months, you are still licensed to USE the software.  Your USE of the license is not contingent upon playing the $25 / 6 mo.

The 'lifetime license' was a one time price and included lifetime support...

These licences are now pretty much a waste of time. I had a perpetual licence which was great but if you want some of the extras like IP SEO, 5 user IP Chat and the spam monitoring service you have to have a regular licence. Previously people with lifetime and perpetual licences could pay a bit extra for these. IPS changed things about a year ago. To continue using the Spam Monitoring service and IP SEO I had no alternative to change to a regular licence.
