Hello,

I keep a wordpress portal installation at my website root, and a complete forum in /forum/
At the moment, people use the default wordpress reply/comment system to leave a reply in a portal article.
What  i need, if possible, is replace completly the wordpress reply method, and use the IPB forum comment/reply instead.

Now, i think that some sort of members integration is NOT needed.
Worpress registered authors are just a few authorized people. I do not need general public to be able to publish new topics in my portal.
I just need the discussion part, below each portal topic, to be handled by IPB

For every new entry published in wordpress portal blog by our authors, a new, corresponding forum topic, can/should be created in the forum. People will see that new forum topic, will be able to reply in the forum, see all replies, rank, and in generally have a discussion in the forum.
This entire discussion, should be "visible" in the corresponding wordpress article, below the main article content, in the place where the default wordpress reply system used to be.
Ideally, visitors should have ALL topic discussion controls ( ie make a new reply ) directly from the portal page, will not have to be re-directed to the forum just to leave a new reply.

I m not sure, i think i have seen what i ask in a British website, long time ago. Wordpress pages + IPB discussion below each wordpress page. Was not done with iframe, was a genuine custom php mod.

Of course i m not expecting a free solution :)
Any ideas?

PS sorry for he long post, i m just trying to describe best whats in my mind LOL

not positive but I THINK ip.content front page may work for you. you write article and the comments can be there AND in an auto-generated forum topic. the comments can show in both places (synced) or just one.

Hello D , thanks for reply, ip.content cannot be used for my purpose: Portal is not maintained by one person / website owner. We have several authors, posting daily new articles.
They come and go, some may leave, some others will become authors, however they all have one thing in common: They are people knowing wordpress well, been bloggers using wp for years,  impossible to tell all those people to learn a new backend.

IP. Content might do this job for you, along with a RSS Feed importer that imports articles as threads in a forum.
Click this link to Purchase IP.Board (and IP. add-ons) from IPS today - discounts available depending upon items purchased - up to 25% discount!
I would really appreciate if you use the above link to purchase IP. Board.

IP.Content is able to do this. If you wish a thread is created in the forum of your choice and comments on the article go in there.

As always when it comes to IP.Content I really encourage to try the demo. It is cleary not as easy to handle as Wordpress. Don't expect anything like that. You need at least basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for IP.Content to design it, even when using the Board Wrapper (you will see it, when you test it ;) ).
Take your time and if the 5-day-period is too short you can ask for additional days. I'm sure Sales can manage this for you.

well not sure they would need to learn the backend, unlike WP (from what I remember of it) all writing and publishing can be done from the front end. press add article, type it, press publish. done. right from the front page.
but a lot depends on how you have permissions too, thats where ip.content would possibly bite you.

I think it could be made to work, but it is something you would really need to take a close look at.

I wonder why it's always recommendations to IP.Content while the OP requested for a Wordpress integration... :(

On topic; I actually found http://ipbwi.com which integrats Invision to Wordpress. Not sure if that really suits your need though...
