I am currently using the IP.board demo to see if I can layout my website the way I have in my mind. I am trying to modify the global template using the template editing tools in the admin panel of my demo. Whenever I try to save the global template to be updated I get this error:

Quote

Exception: SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token '<'

followed by this

Quote

Failure: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>500 Internal Server Error</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Internal Server Error</h1>
<p>The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete
your request.</p>
<p>Please contact the server administrator,
webmaster@a579.demo.invisionpower.com and inform them of the time the error occurred,
and anything you might have done that may have
caused the error.</p>
<p>More information about this error may be available
in the server error log.</p>
<p>Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p>

</body></html>

Both of those are shown via a javascript alert.

At first I thought that maybe I had improperly changed the code for the template but I reverted my document to its original, unedited version and went to save again. In other words, I made no changes but just pressed the save button and the same messages came up.

Does anyone know what could be going on here? This error seems to only affect the globalTemplate file and none of the other files accessible via the admin tools theme editor.

It may be a issue related to the size of the template, and some server settings. You may see the same error in the stylesheet "ipb_styles.css" found under the CSS tab in the editor.
Or it's a restriction in the demo.

Try Deleting everything and seeing if that saves. Defiantly sounds like a strange issue.

Out of curiousity, what did you add to the global template and try to save that triggered this error?  Sounds like it could be an issue with our demo setup we'll need to investigate.

If it sounds like fun, it's not allowed on the bus!
