I've been poking around in the IPS Community demo and I can't see how to control where the "read more" break can be inserted.

I'd like to be able to offer a teaser or intro paragraph to guests, and the full article to members.

How is that done in IP.Content articles?

IP.Content at present simply truncates the article content supplied (to change how much content is shown, you would have to edit the template to change the point it is truncated at, however this does not allow you to control where the "read more" link is inserted specifically).

IP.Content 2.3.0 will feature a "Teaser Paragraph" field out of the box, however.  This will be combined with the article content when viewing the article, but if present will be used in the listings and frontpages (if not supplied for an article, we will revert to truncating the article content as we do now).  This will allow you to control where the read more link is inserted, in effect.

Okay, that sounds like it would work. Just to make sure, though - can the teaser be visible to guests while the full article is only available to registered (paid) users?

Yes and no.  IP.Content does not have per-field permissions right now (so you couldn't let a group view the article and see some fields but not others), however you could give guests the ability to show and list articles, but not view articles.  Guests would be able to navigate the article system and see the teaser in the listings, but not view the article itself (where the article content would be shown).

That's the goal - Everyone sees the same content on the front page, including the truncated introduction, but only members can read the full article.

Yes, then, support for those permission settings are available out of the box.
