Hi there,

I am currently testing the waters to find the best solution for my website revamp. I would like to be able to create a single sign up/sign in that allows the following:
  • Register/log in to the forum
  • Register/log in to the site - I am using Wordpress
  • Register for mailing list - I am using Mailchimp
I also need to:
  • Allow members to purchase membership upgrades which will affect areas of the site they can access
  • Allow members to refer friends to receive membership perks
  • Allow people to refer new users to my products for affiliate percentage
From what I can tell, some of this is possible with an IP board and nexus combination. I found an older thread suggesting that IPBWI for wordpress is the best way to integrate ip logon and wordpress logon, is this still the case? I also found an old thread suggesting that there's no way to automate mailchimp registration at the same time as board/site registration. Is this still the case?

In case I'm not being particularly clear, here's my typical use case:

New user visits site, sees signup banner in sidebar, can access some content and some redirects to a signup page. A floating popup (popup domination) is shown once a visit/day.

User registers, and now site allows the user to access additional content, registration popup no longer comes up, and signup banner in sidebar is replaced with something else (user cp, perhaps). User can now post in forum and begins to receive newsletters.

User can purchase a digital product, which allows them to access even more of the site.

I appreciate any responses!
Chris

Ah - one more thing. I want my premium members to be able to see content that standard members are redirected to the sales page for, and similarly I want my standard members to be able to see pages that non-members are redirected to the signup page for. Can I do this with IP user groups and integrate it with wordpress user groups? Is there an even easier way?

Thanks again

Register for mailing list - I am using Mailchimp

As far as registering for the forum/mailing list, IPB has a built in Bulk Mailer for registered users that can email all users currently registered and that have "get email from admins" marked (which is marked by default on registration). As for the blog/site, I am uncertain as it is beyond my expertise.

This may all be possible with Nexus.

IP.Board supports login module plugins and SSO plugins, so you can develop a single-sign on solution if you have the necessary coding capabilities without editing any IP.Board files.  There is a Wordpress SSO plugin here:

IP.Nexus would allow you to accomplish your other goals regarding subscription purchases and affiliate tracking.

You can show custom error messages for users who do not have permission to view specific forums, and within those custom error messages you could add a redirect to a sign up page if you wanted.

If it sounds like fun, it's not allowed on the bus!
