I'm planning a conversion from UBB and am looking for any feedback from anyone who has done this conversion.
TIA.
Anyone convert from UBB?

I am in the same boat as yourself, planning on converting from UBB to IPB soon. I know some people's sites have already been ported over, like http://www.sat4all.com/forums/
I'm thinking of getting a special template commissioned to make the transition easier for users. The idea is for the new forums to have the look and feel of UBB, which can easily be achieved by making the current version of IPB... look like IPB verson 2.X.
Would you be looking at doing the same? How large is your board btw?

Hello,
My personal site at http://nonleague.co.uk used to be on UBB.Threads.
Whilst it was a bit of a change, the benefits added with IP.Board far outweighed any concerns of members.

I agree that moving to IPB will be of great benefit to users. We just want to give them a soft-landing by using a skin resembling the 2.x.x look of IPB which in turn is quite similar to the current version of Threads. Once everyone is over and feeling comfortable and all we can proceed to evolve the skin - bit by bit - to make it look like the current version of IPB.
On a side note I too run a sports forum.
Are some of your features (like Maps) custom-made or is everything on your site set up without any modifications?
