Hey guys,

So I am selling products through e-junkie.com. What I'd like to do is give anyone who signs up the option to input a transaction ID into their account to get access to certain forums.

Anyone who doesn't input this code (I.e. people who haven't bought anything) cant see these forums.

Does that make sense? Is this something IPB could do? Is there a better way?

Looking to switch from vBulletin to IPB anyway, and it would be great if this was an option.

Thanks guys!

I would recommend using Nexus instead of e-junkie so you don't have to constantly pay the middle-man fees.

In regards to your question, I'm sorry but I don't know.

You could have where when they purchase something with Nexus it puts them in a new member group, where the regular group has no access to most of the site.

There isn't a way to input a code to bypass restrictions out of the box, no.

You could use IP.Nexus which can natively support giving users more permissions upon purchasing something.

Another potential option is to use password-protected forums and then make the transaction code the password for the forum, if they can be static and reusable by multiple users.

I think I'll go ahead and use PB.Board + IP.Nexus then. Checked it all out and it looks amazing.

Thanks a lot for the help guys!

I've got licences for both, IP board and IP nexus, and i can say they're honestly brilliant applications, they work well and are well designed, i don't think you'll be dissapointed ;)
