If you abandon something for 7 months I think its a clear indication that you have no intention to update it. Others should be free to takeover for the benefit of everyone else. Just look at what happened with the inv awards.

Just an opinion though. I know nothing of copyright law or "ethics".

I am pretty miffed .. after moenths of nothing, remove it while 'we' make a decision? Surely by now you will either abandon it or take it in house to do properly. sheez

I just hope it will come back in any form, not to mention develop it further, since I was planning to use it. More than that, develop it to become more like a PM tool.

I'm sure it will come back... It being gone doesn't help anyone in the present... But I take Charles comment as being 'It doesn't reflect the quality of our company, we will look at ways to improve it long term.'

First IP.Portal then IP.Shoutbox, then probably IP.Tracker and then prolly IP.Converge.... All good things doesn't last forever. I am glad we have people like Michael who took the shoutbox and is providing updates and fixes.

After all it's all about $$ so can't blame IPS either.

Just wanted to pop in and say IP.Tracker is one of the reasons I haven't switched to XenForo, as they do not offer this solution. Hopefully Charles assigns someone to resurrect IP.Tracker's project in the near future. I fear we could be stuck on an older IP.Board version when compatibility breaks.

IP.Shoutbox was never operated by IPS, it was a community project which all community projects were taken down as they removed the community projects groups etc. Same goes for tracker.

IP.Board just came out and there current focus on that right now and trying to fix major bugs that have not been found. I know they will work on it cause they know people use it. I give them some time to after the maintenance release.

As this topic attests people are clearly unhappy with Tracker in its current state so we are removing it for the time being until we can make a long term decision.

Removing?! But I use tracker and it being "drop" is a bad move. Why not just update it?

The current 'beta' version works for the most part on IPB 3.3.0, based on my tests. But it is definitely not finished.

Right now it works but i cannot close a ticket (the option close just isnt there). If that could be fixed we are already a whole lot further.

Nexus isn't free like tracker is/was. If you needed core Nexus functions to run a Nexus tracker you'd probably have to own Nexus and couldn't use it as a stand alone system w/o Nexus.

That idea would probably not be well liked to have to pay for Nexus to get tracker.
