All other data transfered over, however the categories and boards will not show on the main index yet they show in the admin panel. Anyone know the reason?

you need to set all the forum permissions.... admincp > forums > edit each forum permission and set the usergroups who can see, read, post, etc.

Permission masks doesn't come converted. You need to re-do them.
