This is mostly useful for people using Nexus to sell physical products, but for online sellers with accounting systems
outside of Nexus this could also be useful - the ability to attribute custom attributes to products that are static to the product/package and passed around with API calls, custom actions, and potentially data exports.
As an example, you could add a UPC or SKU attribute for your product containing the UPC of a product you're selling, so that you can search Nexus for the product by simply scanning the barcode - of course this means the custom attributes would have to be searchable too
