I created an HTML page in IP.Content using the stock IP template (no mods) with IPB Wrapper set to Yes. My sandbox page had an h1 header, a ul/li list, and a link:

<h1>This is an h1 header</h1>
<ul>
<li>here is a list item</li>
<li>here is a list item with a <a href="/some/place.html">link</a></li>
</ul>

This is what was rendered:

It's like the engine went out of its way to strip out any formatting.

I think IP.Content would be a lot easier to use if it came with a reasonable, good looking template. Nothing super-fancy, but at least something that makes an h1 larger than normal text, has some list bullets, etc.

sir... heres your markup.
<h1 class='ipsType_pagetitle'>This is an h1 header</h1>
<ul class='bbc'>
<li>here is a list item</li>
<li>here is a list item with a <a href="/some/place.html" class='bbc_url'>link</a></li>
</ul>
h# tags and lists and a tags are reset by the skin css.

I appreciate the info...

This has nothing to do with the engine stripping content. It is 100% purely a function of the default CSS code used in the IP.Board default skin. You could add the same HTML you tested with directly to a skin template and get the same results. :)

Just look in ipb_styles.css. It's quite clear that everything is reset.

Also front end designing is actually a documentation article..

I think if you gave that answer to most IPB owners, they'd say "what is a .css file?"

There's bbcode entry, but that does not provide any styles (header, paragraph, etc.), just BB markup.

Also front end designing is actually a documentation article..

Can you send me a link? I've only found these docs, and don't see it...thanks!

I'd have a lot to say to those IPB owners. :D

Seems like stoo gave you the link I was talking about. Definitely look through all of it. You can learn how to make sidebars with it!
