At this time there is only one feed which does not show updated files and that is

http://www.forum.com/rss/downloads/

where only the newly uploaded files are shown.

But what about files which are updated (get new versions)? These files are never seen on a RSS feed ever again.

That's not good when I export rss streams to my CMS mainpage.

Please add another RSS in IP.Downloads which shows us UPDATED FILES/SUBMISSIONS.

Definately agreed!

Great addition that would be.

Member's need to stay informed about updated files too.

Made that suggestion many many moons ago, unfortunately it didn't come to light - hopefully this reminder may be enough for Brandon to consider it again

Would it be sufficient to simply change "new files" to "updated files" in the existing RSS stream? I'm not sure there's really a need for two RSS feeds here, personally, but I would be ok changing the existing one.

Would this apply to all feeds Brandon, or possible to just change downloads? I think, where it would be appropriate for downloads, it would be somewhat inappropriate for topics?

Can't speak for the other guys here, but if you could offer some hint where to update the changes I, for one, would be happy to do it myself rather than apply it to the board permanently - least that way, others can possibly find this topic and make the changes if they want :)
Cheers
Marko

This would only apply to downloads - each application generates its RSS feed independently.

Change would be to change "file_submitted" to "file_updated" in admin/applications_addon/ips/downloads/extensions/rssOutput.php.

It's a simple change, but not one I feel is worthy of an ACP option frankly.

Thats a nice way to have at least one thing to choose from. But why not worthy, huh? We now saw that is easily 'doable'. Why not let us have both?

If anyone cares I would export feeds to tabs called new files and updated files so having BOTH type of feeds would be awesome.

I also got to ask this question, how can I add the version number to the same feed? I've looked into the same file for clues and I see that something like file_version should be added but I wasn't successfull finding where. Anyone can help, please?

Please can you tell how to add file version to the rss feed too and I'd leave you alone about it for good :)

You just call to the version field in the database in the title or where-ever you want to show it.  Please post in the peer help forums for instructions modifying the files though - I'm certain someone can answer your question pretty quickly.
