It is important to disable the confirm my order button when a transaction is being processed in order to avoid multiple charges. Multiple charges will result in chargebacks.

It already does disable the button with Javascript. If you did manage to submit a duplicate request, the gateway would reject the duplicate as each transaction has a unique ID.
