Hello :-)

I'm currently evaluating various forum softwares for a forum that I'm considering starting. A main criteria for selection of the software is the extent to which the fields in the personal profile can be altered/expanded so that a more comprehensive personal description is possible (free text)

Also, it is necessary that the forum search engine can search information in the personal profile fields even if this is free text.

Any of you know of a tutorial - or link to a video - that shows how a personal profile is set up in IP Board, including how more free text fields can be added?

You can create custom profile fields in IP.Board. This article explains how to do so. You can create a text input or textarea field allowing text to be entered.

The primary search engine cannot search in custom profile fields, however the memberlist can (as can the admin within the ACP).

When you click more search options on this page, you will be able to search within custom profile fields that you have the ability to view.
