I understand that it can be done, but my question is -- do I need to have the phpBB3 forum updated to the present update 3.0.10, or will it convert from 3.0.9?

And how long, roughly -- does the conversion take? Moments or minutes?

Does anyone have any links to forums that have been converted?

I'm planning on buying IPB this week, so I'm just trying to get some information before purchase.

As long as you're in the current version as in 3.0, you'll be fine.

It depends on how many members, post counts and threads you have.

Yup, the length of the conversion completely depends on your counts as Sefket.

To put it in perspective, a small board (a few hundred topics/posts) should only take ~30minutes to convert and rebuild everything. I've been working on a conversion that has 1.35 million posts / 258k topics / 126k members... and locally that has been taking almost a full 24 hours from board offline to board online again.

Hi,

Have been running on a free hosted phpBB3 board which has around 8000 posts, however they don't provide access to the DB or any method where you can back it up.
I plan on setting up some logic and screen scraping the site including posts and members into excel or XML format, so I can related each post to a member along with order of post.
The issue I have is as invision doesn't have an XML import option, how do I bridge the gap and get the data/posts into my hosted invision board?
