Converge fails on installs converted from other forum software

IP.Converge is almost entirely useless on IPB installs converted from other software. In our case, we converted from vBulletin, and all member passwords are stored not in members_pass_hash but in conv_password. When IP.Converge imports the user table, it has empty passwords for everyone.
Now, when we enable both Converge and the converter as login methods, members can log in using their usernames, but their converted passwords are not copied to Converge's database, so they cannot log in using their email addresses. This means that any integration provided by Converge is useless.
Also, new registrations aren't copied to Converge's DB.
This makes Converge useless for us, unfortunately.
