WP3.2->Content Comments Fail

it "acts" like its converting comments from posts to article comments... it is not:
comment_record_id in ccs_database_comments is coming up 0 on latest build, effectively making the import worthless.

i should say worthless sans manual queries to fix it, obviously with any large amount matching these up properly would be an immense pain.... shouldn't this step be part of the articles conversion so that the records primary_id_field is present when comment inserted?
