FTP Files get random name before they're uploaded to remote FTP server

Posted by DevilEvil on 28 December 2011 - 03:50 PM

Hello,

This issue related to this topic here: http://community.inv...a-strange-name/

When a file is uploaded via remote FTP, the file name gets changed to some sort of MD5 hash (an example uploaded on our installation is: fdf1678c8cd9555fbefaa4c1f5605c99-.zip)

Is this working as intended? Is there a setting I'm missing? I don't see a setting and this behaviour is less than ideal.

Thanks.

changed status to: Not a Bug

What if two people uploaded "test.txt"?  One file would overwrite the others, if a hash of some sort wasn't applied.

When using the normal download functions, IP.Downloads renames the file real time and sends that to the browser as the "save as" filename, but this is not possible with FTP since we just basically send a request to the FTP server to download the file.
