The emoticon menu is generated on page load and hidden presently. The browser ends up requesting all of these images, even if the user never opens the menu.
It would be better to generate the menu on the fly (i.e. when the menu is clicked) so that the images are only requested from the server if the user actually clicks to open the menu.
