When it comes to security, this is everything really, so if Zendguard is required to provide the best and secure handling of transactions I couldn't give less s**t (excuse my language). If this is a question about modification vs. security, and people choose modification then I just *facepalm*. Either you buy the product for what it is, or you stay off. I guess I'd be the first to say I love IPS for encoding it with Zenguard then, because obviously security means nothing to most people here. Even the most secure application can be hacked/abused or whatever, but that's not a reason to drop trying to protect it in the best way available. In this case, Zendguard was chosen.
+1 to IPS for awesome app!

I work for a quite a large hosting company, and as for new developments lately with forums and requirements - we just update all servers accordingly. This includes shared hosting, we have many clients that have non-standard requirements - but if there is enough interest that we can see, and the update or installing of other technologies are worthwhile then there is no problem.
We run various checks beforehand, and possible conflicts are always taken care of. IP.Nexus is one very nice application, I have been using it for quite awhile even when it was in beta stages, okay a few bugs but that was expected. Now, it's fully released with Zend Guard I am not seeing any problems, and will be issuing a report that it runs perfect on our servers.
Okay, there are hosts out there that may not be so giving as we are, but most should support Zend Guard - it's free to install, but some hosts will just not spend the time needed to update their systems, that is something that may happen with some cheap hosting companies.
IP.Nexus is here, and must be the best add-on I have seen in awhile.... Nice one!

I am extremely disappointed with being forced to install Zenguard for this after purchasing the business license. This puts me in a tough spot of having to figure out how to get Zenguard installed.. which on early attempts did not work because their installer didn't work correctly. Unfortunately I'm going to have to figure out something to get it installed..
The idea that installing this add-on is going to break other types of caching mechanisms is also disappointing if that's true. Please put ZEN ENCODED in big bold print somewhere so people know to avoid purchasing IP.Nexus right away if they can't meet your requirements.
To be honest I'm just trying to stay calm, because I'm actually really upset at this decision not to offer a non-zen encoded version.

Anyway, How much is actually encoded? Only the processing files or also the Support/Package view etc. Files?
To be honest, The last thing I want is someone to put a SQL injection on the Payement Execution.

It hasn't officially been released to the public yet, the people that bought it on special days already have version 1.0.0 so I am guessing the rest of us will be able to buy it Tuesday.
#1794928 PM Flood Control for IP.Board 2.3.6

PM Flood Control Patch for Invision Power Board 2.3.6 Released
We have received numerous reports from clients regarding spamming on the Personal Message (PM) system in IP.Board 2.3.6 and below. After consulting with reCaptcha (the provider of the captcha system in 2.3.6) we believe that humans are being used to bypass the captcha and then the newly created account is given to an automated script which sends PMs in huge quantities to your members.
The patch we have released today introduces a flood control setting to the PM system in IP.Board 2.3.6. This will limit how fast a member can send PMs thereby giving you and your moderators time to ban the offending account.
The download of 2.3.6 in the client area has been updated with this patch. If you already have 2.3.6 installed, you can download the patch along with instructions right in this topic. Applying the patch is quite easy but if you have questions feel free to contact support. If you would like support to apply the patch for you be sure to include your admin username and password, and if you are not an IPS hosting customer, your FTP details.
Upcoming IP.Board 3.0.0
IP.Board 3.0.0 contains this update already and new spam mitigation tools such as timed user group promotion. We are also exploring new centralized spam identification and banning services which we hope to have updates for you very soon!
