Getting the hang of the new IP.Content. Now its just matter of figuring out what I want to do with CSS. Unfortunately in a uncreative funk...

About Me
I am pretty much considered a Jack of Trades. I don't have a speciality but I've been known to dabble in quite a few fields and areas. My male biological parental unit was in the Navy so that makes me a Navy brat who had the fortune as well as misfortunate of moving around a lot. I've lived in Guam, Phillipines, Canada, Alaska, California, Oregon, Arizona, and Hawaii although I consider Oregon home. I would love to consider Hawaii home but it is way too expensive to live there. I've been married, divorced, remarried and have 4 children. Overall it has left me with quite a few experiences in life and down an intersting road.
I have been asked before; If you could go back in time and change something, what would it be? My answer would have to be nothing. Sure I would like to end up where I am today a little bit faster and even rich but unfortunately if I remove any experience, then ultimately I might not be who I am today and I like who I am (well mostly
). I think I keep an open mind and an understanding that good and bad, no matter the outcome, our experiences shape us as individuals. But enough of the theoretical and philosophical nonsense
I have been working in the tech industry for 10+ years, starting out with sales then working up through PC hardware support. Currently I'm a Project Manager & Training Coordinator for a software company. I get to travel sometimes when doing installs and having to do training with new customers, although mostly I work in the office. I have experience and understanding of HTML, PHP, java, JavaScript, Perl but am considered a novice by far, in my opinion. I do know how long, programming work and have the basic understanding to know what needs to be done for projects based on my own experience and knowledge. That tends to make me good at my job. I can understand both sides of the coin, the front end user and back end user. In a way we're a lot like a Coach of a sports team, we get the blame when the project (product) fails and the team gets the glory when the product succeeds well. That's fine with me as we often have to make the hard decisions on what we have to cut. Often we would love to include every feature in every product, however due to time and money we often can't, so have to predict which features will be the best sellers and overall meet the needs of a greater market.
I'm an old school table top gamer. I first learned table-top role playing your basic AD&D and then started to get into White Wolf gaming, GURPs and other RPGs. That led to my love for Roleplaying & Real Time Strategy CPU games (Starcraft, Warcraft, C&C) and moving from that to miniature gaming like Warhammer 40K, Full Thrust and Battletech. I'm a huge Battletech fan and can't wait for the Mechwarrior reboot.
I enjoy writing, debating, talking and quite often shopping. Sorry guys, no I do not have to forfeit my man card because I like to shop. Me liking to shop tends to mean I get to go shopping with the women and when women shop they buy complete outfits. That often means they are trying on outfits and prancing around asking if this looks good or not. And no that doesn't make me a creepy stalker pervert
They are all my friends, not to mention there is nothing wrong at enjoying beautiful scenery... you just can't touch. So while all the guys hang out doing guy things, I'll hang out with the women just fine.
That brings up another debate... beer vs wine coolers. My friends were hassling me because I was drinking wine coolers and saying that I have to give up my man card because I wasn't drinking beer. I'm sorry but wine coolers taste better and have more alcohol than beer. Oddly enough they tend to get drunker faster even though I'm drinking equal amount of wine coolers vs beer. And I'm the wuss? But I digress...
I now provide you with your moment of Zen:
