In Topic: Can something be done about the facebook bot?

I've been trying to figure out a way on how to ban Facebook from my site, their search engines, but nothing indicates how to do that through IPB. And it'll get more aggressive now that FB will be under to perform for investors. How do you restrict Facebook from your site?
In Topic: IP.Board & The Forum Will Be Dead Within 5 Years

The thing is that most people don't realize that message forums have existed far before Facebook came along and they'll continue to exist long after Facebook and social media are gone. What most don't realize is that before the "web browsing" version of the internet came along, the bulletin board experience started it all out. The thing is, the message forum experience continues to evolve. I remember when I first started with the bulletin board experience and it was with the ISCABBS system, which was a text based bulletin board system.. Then, it evolved into the more familiar "graphic or image-laden" message forum system that we're familiar with with software like vBulletin and IPB.
I just don't see the forum experience disappearing anytime soon and I'm actually seeing it evolve into something of a more "virtual" experience, sort of like a message forum version of IMVU. But, I don't see the message forum experience disappearing anytime soon.

I've always wondered about this. For IPB 3.3, for some reason, when you click on "The moderating team" link, it doesn't display all of your moderators. It only displays a selected few. I think there's a glitch.
In Topic: Admin Posts "Reported"

Marcher, the reason I hadn't applied it was because Rimi wasn't completely sure of the hack/edit, which is why I didn't apply it. I don't apply "fixes" to my forum unless I'm sure if it works or if someone posted a fix and they post that they're not sure of the fix themselves. I always "err" on the side of caution.
In Topic: Admin Posts "Reported"

Well, it must be fairly simply to create a hook or mod that could assign an "on/off" feature for members. Such as:
Topic Report: (toggle on/off)
enabling "report" button for user generated topics
Message Report: (toggle on/off)
enabling "report" button for user generated messages
I'm not saying that everyone would find it useful, but that it should be something that can be switched on or off by either usergroup or specific member. If I'm the admin then it's redundant for my content to be reported because I'm at the top of the forum staff chain on my site. It's just something that some of us would find useful to disable for specific usergroups. While it would always be enabled for the "members" usergroup, we're just asking for a feature that can turn it off for admin or root admin.
I can understand what IPS Staff is saying about this particular issue but, generally speaking, your members are going to be very reluctant to report the content of the admin for fear of either being banned or being restricted from the forums. There's an intimidation factor there considering the admin is the one who owns the site ...
