#1915756 Ajax quick reply

Posted Razasharp on 20 February 2010 - 12:26 PM

I've been hanging around here the last few days and went back to one of my boards last night. And I just thought how much snappier and 'alive' the board felt compared to this one. There are a number of reasons and I'll post them as and when I get time (/become a licensed customer). First one tho is lack of ajax quick reply.

Is this due to get added in 3.1? If not I hope the devs seriously consider it :)

(I know there's a plugin for it, but 3rd party hacks are not the same - some of us don't like using hacks, plus the feature is too important not to be a std feature imo).

Whilst on the topic of ajax - I noticed it could be used in an number of additional places around here - such as in the gallery 'set this pic as avatar' etc People/users love ajax, especially when you have some pages using it on a site already.

#1895552 We need more control over Profile page...! As Admin

Posted media on 04 January 2010 - 08:33 PM

We need more control over Profile page:

1. we need to have an action line on the Action drop down list in admin panel to delete member profile comments (All profile comments made by same user like delete all posts and topics)
2. We need to have a control over about me page like signature... There should be some limitation to new user for this page... like signature...
they have to make some posts before they can edit or create an about me page... This will stop spammer to post an about me page ... Because moderators usually do not see the about me page or control that area that often...

Thanks.

#1897187 Social groups as a corporation

Posted Interferon on 09 January 2010 - 01:04 AM

If user accounts are individuals, then it makes sense to think of social groups as a "corporation".  A corporation can use many of the services an individual uses:  It can have a bank account, a cell phone account, or own a house.  In the same way, a "social group" as I see it would have many of the same features as an individual account.  It would be able to upload files, images, and it would have a profile.  It might even have a blog.  I don't suggest allowing a social group to comment on the forum, but the analogy is a pretty good one.

Why use social groups?  They might not be useful for some forums, but for my forum they would be extremely useful.  My users form game projects.  We have the Leadwerks Community MMO, the Leadwerks Community FPS, and other projects.  There would probably be more if they were better facilitated.  As it is, the most I can do for them is post a sticky thread that becomes 20 pages long.

I have one company using my software that has 6 accounts.  They would absolutely love it if they could create a company social group and post images of their game, along with a description of the game.  A single private or public forum at the bottom of the page would be perfect for talking amongst themselves.

I would gladly pay extra for a social groups add-on.  That's my input on how I would use them, and why I think they would eventually be a good addition.

#1852280 Spam system - ban by IP

Posted QuickSilverIS on 03 September 2009 - 04:43 PM

Hi,

Over the last couple of days I have had 13 registrations from two IPs in the same address range - I can find them all by searching the first 3 octets of the IP, however I can see no way of marking them all as spam in one go, is this possible, and if not could it be added in 3.0.4?

Thanks
